This of course is the Iwo
    Jima monument in
    Washington D.C.

I was a little upset the day I
    took this photo because it
was hazy.  When I look at it
now I realize that God made
it hazy that day for a reason.

    This photo signifys to me:

    The brave men raising the
    flag at Iwo Jima represents
    all who have fought valiantly
for freedom not only for the
    United States, but for the
    world.  Their Freedom Fight
    is very clear

Now there is a haze over
    Washington affecting our
    leaders  thinking about what
    freedom truly is.

    And the people who make
the laws in the Capital are
not only in a freedom haze,
but are at a far distance not
    only from the American
people of today, but from all
    the brave that fought for
    freedom for this country from
    the Revolution through now.

    Truly a remarkable man!  This
photo was taken in August of
    2009 nearly 8 years after 9/11.

I was struck how close this
fire house was to the the
    twin towers.  The bravery
shown that day by the F.D.N.
    Y & N.Y.P.D. is beyond
    remarkable.

    This gentleman and the
    others stationed at this fire
house have had to put up
    with an almost constant flow
of people for over 8 years.
    Asking the same questions &
    making the same comments
    over and over again.

    His patients with the people
the day I was there was
    unbelivable.

A good look at one of the
    trucks of Ten House, right
next to the 9/11 site in New
    York City

    This one room school house
is where one of our greatest
    Americans, Norman Borlaug,
    went to school through the
    eight grade.  This school
    house now rests on the
    Borlaug Farm about 3 miles
    from my backyard.

    Borlaug was a Nobel Peace
Prize winner in 1971 & is
    given credit for saving more
    people from starvation than
    anyone that has ever lived.
    About 1 Billion!

I met him once and was
struck  by how similar he was
to all the others from that
    generation from this part of
    the world.

    In the 30s, Borlaug would
    walk from his farm through
corn fields to play baseball in
what is now my backyard.  He
    dreamt of playing second
    base for the Chicago Cubs.

    My backyard was his "Field
    of Dreams" and like the
doctor in the movie he left
    his dream to save lifes.

He was very proud of his
    humble beginnings, which
    helped pave way for some
    the greatest humanitarian
deeds in the history of man.
